Atlanta Police Officer Among Two Found Dead Near Piedmont Park Home
An Atlanta police officer was among two people found dead inside a home near Piedmont Park on Saturday, authorities said. Officers were asked to conduct a wellness check around 4 p.m. in the 600 block of Cooledge Avenue, according to Deputy Chief Prenzinna Spann. The residence is located near the southeast corner of the park and the Atlanta Beltline’s Eastside trail. Spann noted that the identities of the deceased have not been released. She also mentioned that the department has not been involved in any ongoing death investigation related to the incident. Police are providing assistance to the families affected by this tragedy.
