Atlanta VA Doctor Found Guilty of Groping Female Patient in Disturbing Case
A federal jury has convicted Dr. Rajesh Motibhai Patel, 69, of Lilburn, for groping a female patient at the Atlanta VA Medical Center during exams from 2019 to 2020. He was found guilty of violating the patient's constitutional right to bodily integrity and engaging in unwanted sexual contact, although he was acquitted of charges related to three other victims. Sentencing is scheduled for February 20, and U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Buchanan emphasized the violation of trust that occurred, while the Department of Veterans Affairs pledged to hold accountable those who commit such acts against veterans.
