BioLab has been cited by the U.S. Department of Labor for four serious and two other-than-serious violations related to a fire at its Conyers facility in September 2023, which resulted in hospitalizations and the evacuation of 17,000 residents. The investigation by OSHA revealed that improperly stored hazardous chemicals were responsible for the fire, leading to proposed penalties exceeding $61,000. BioLab has 15 business days to respond to the citations, while the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board continues its separate investigation into the incident.
