Bomb threat prompts evacuation at South Fulton Postal Service facility
An employee at a United States Postal Service facility in the 120 block of Villanova Drive in South Fulton discovered a suspicious device around 7 a.m. on Thursday. The employee promptly contacted South Fulton police, who evacuated the building and closed the surrounding roads. Police spokesperson Tori Cooper advised residents to avoid the area, which is located near Fulton Industrial Boulevard. Authorities safely removed the explosive device, which was related to a bomb threat that occurred last month at the same facility. Cooper noted that the police were investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. The area was secured as a precautionary measure while the device was being handled. No injuries were reported, and the situation was resolved without further complications. The police department continues to monitor the area for safety.
