DeKalb County police Officer David Rose, 33, tragically died after being critically injured while responding to gunfire outside the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday. In response to community support, his family has launched an official online fundraiser, which has raised nearly $30,000 as of early Monday, to assist them during this difficult time. Officer Rose, a father of two with a third child on the way, emphasized during his graduation from the police academy in March that policing is about protecting the vulnerable and standing for justice.
