A woman was shot by Gordon County deputies shortly after midnight on Friday during a response to a domestic disturbance on Erwin Hill Church Road near Sonoraville. The woman, who was holding a handgun and pointed it at the deputies, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. This incident marks the eighth officer-involved shooting in Georgia in the past week, contributing to a total of 54 such incidents investigated by the GBI this year.
