Less than six months after being released from prison, Jarvis Oneal Cloption attacked his 72-year-old stepfather in Ellenwood, Georgia, on September 4, 2020, seeking money while the man slept. Cloption stabbed his stepfather multiple times before also attacking a friend who intervened, leaving both victims hospitalized but alive. On Friday, Cloption pleaded guilty to elder abuse and aggravated assault, receiving a 20-year prison sentence with the possibility of parole from Superior Court Judge Yolanda Parker-Smith.
