FBI Investigates Russian Origin Bomb Threats Targeting Georgia Polling Locations Amid Record Voter Turnout
On Tuesday, the FBI reported hoax bomb threats targeting polling locations in five battleground states, including Georgia, which are believed to have originated from Russian email domains. While the threats led to temporary closures of 13 precincts in Fulton, Gwinnett, and DeKalb counties, election officials confirmed that none of the threats were credible, and voting continued with extended hours to accommodate voters. Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger emphasized that the state would not be intimidated by these threats, highlighting a record voter turnout of approximately 5.3 million.
