Ford Motor Co Faces Historic 25 Billion Dollar Verdict in Georgia Rollover Case Linked to Super Duty Truck Fatalities

Ford Motor Co. has been ordered to pay over $2.5 billion to the family of Herman and Debra Mills, who died in a 2022 rollover accident involving a Ford F250 "Super Duty" truck, following a jury's decision in Columbus, Georgia. The jury found Ford primarily at fault for the crash, assigning 85% of the blame to the company, which has now faced the two largest verdicts in Georgia history in recent years. The Mills family, represented by attorney James E. Butler, argued that the truck's roof was weak, contributing to the fatalities, while Ford plans to appeal the verdict, claiming the evidence does not support the jury's decision.
