Former Walmart Employee Sentenced to Life for Fatal Shooting of Teen in Fayetteville Store
Adrian Jelks, a former Walmart employee, has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for fatally shooting 19-year-old Antavius Holton and injuring a 9-year-old girl during a shooting at the Fayetteville store on March 29. Prosecutors stated that Jelks fired 19 rounds into the store, targeting Holton, and fled the scene but was arrested five days later after turning himself in. Another suspect, Sandra Romero-Nunez, was also arrested in connection with the incident and later pleaded guilty to obstruction charges.
