On Saturday, a street racing event in Gwinnett County resulted in the arrest of four individuals after numerous vehicles blocked the intersection of Oakland and Cruse roads. Police responded to the scene, where participants were performing burnouts and setting items on fire, and successfully apprehended those attempting to flee, including 18-year-old Jared Sorto Rodriguez of Lawrenceville, who was charged with multiple offenses after allegedly trying to strike an officer while escaping. Three others were arrested, and two individuals were cited and released, as authorities emphasized that anyone involved in illegal drag racing can face misdemeanor charges under Georgia law.
