Lovejoy Police Involved in Fatal Shooting During Traffic Stop of Hampton Man
A 40-year-old Hampton man, Jean Cesar, was shot and killed by Lovejoy police during a traffic stop on Friday morning after he pointed a handgun at an officer. The incident occurred around 8:45 a.m. when an officer approached a suspicious vehicle and observed Cesar racking the slide of a handgun. The officer fired in response to Cesar's actions, and he was pronounced dead at the scene; his body will undergo an autopsy at the GBI's Medical Examiner's Office.
