Man Accused of Stabbing Off-Duty Atlanta Police Officer Turns Himself In After Road Rage Incident

On Tuesday, October 3, 2023, 36-year-old Justin Perry Hurst turned himself in to Rockdale County authorities after being accused of stabbing off-duty Atlanta police officer Tony Black during a road rage incident on January 18. Hurst faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault and aggravated battery, following an altercation that escalated after Hurst allegedly ran his vehicle into Black's car on I-20 and subsequently stabbed him in a parking lot near Conyers. Black was hospitalized for two days but is now stable, while Hurst remains in custody without bond.
