Man Pleads Guilty to Voluntary Manslaughter in Atlanta Security Guard Shooting Case

Damon John-Michael Wilson pleaded guilty on Monday to voluntary manslaughter for the fatal shooting of security guard Tyshon Ross outside the Encore Hookah Bar and Bistro in downtown Atlanta on February 2, 2022. Following a confrontation after being ejected from the bar, Wilson shot Ross, who later died at Grady Memorial Hospital. Wilson was sentenced to 25 years in prison after also pleading guilty to aggravated assault, simple battery, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
