Jeremy Malone, 34, was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple charges related to a shooting at the Peachtree Center food court in downtown Atlanta on June 11. During the incident, Malone shot three people following a confrontation, and he was subsequently injured by an off-duty police officer who intervened. The shooting was part of a larger crime spree that day, which included a bus hijacking by another suspect, Joseph Grier, who is currently awaiting trial.
