Police Officer Shoots Man Wielding Sword in Wrightsville Gas Station Attack
A police officer in Wrightsville shot and killed a man wielding a sword after he attacked a firefighter outside a convenience store early Monday morning. The suspect, identified as Diamond Daspin Seltzer, 32, approached the officer and firefighter while they were speaking and began swinging a Wakizashi sword. The incident occurred around midnight at a SideTrack convenience store and fueling station. Authorities have not released a motive for the attack, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is looking into the case. The firefighter was injured during the confrontation but is recovering. Wrightsville is a small town located about 140 miles southeast of Atlanta and 60 miles east of Macon. The GBI is currently handling the investigation into the shooting.
