Rapper Yak Gotti Remains Behind Bars Despite Acquittal Due to Legal Technicality in Young Slime Life Case
Deamonte Kendrick, known as rapper Yak Gotti, was acquitted of all charges in the "Young Slime Life" case earlier this month but remains in jail due to an outstanding probation violation warrant. Fulton County Judge Robert McBurney stated that Kendrick cannot be granted bond until the warrant issue is resolved, with a plea and arraignment hearing scheduled for January 8. Kendrick's defense attorney suggested that the timing of the warrant's processing appeared retaliatory, as it was filed just before his bond hearing despite prosecutors being aware of it for months.
