Sweltering Heat and Scattered Showers Set to Hit Metro Atlanta This Week

Georgia will experience extreme heat and scattered showers at the start of the work week. A heat advisory is in effect for much of central and eastern Georgia until 8 p.m., with the heat index expected to exceed 105 degrees in those areas and 110 in the south. Metro Atlanta is forecasted to reach mid-90s with a 40% chance of showers, and residents are advised to limit outdoor activities, stay hydrated, and monitor for signs of heat-related illnesses.
