Talbot County Man Arrested for Arson After Wildfire Burns 108 Acres and Damages Homes

William Shane Harvey, a 52-year-old man from Box Springs, Talbot County, was arrested on Sunday for allegedly igniting a wildfire that burned 108 acres and damaged at least two homes. The fire, part of a series of wildfires in Georgia due to dry conditions, prompted a response from multiple firefighting agencies and resulted in property damage for eleven other individuals. If convicted of arson, Harvey could face penalties of up to $50,000 or a prison sentence ranging from one to 20 years.
