Texas Roadhouse Cleared of Liability in Tragic Death of 13-Year-Old Boy Struck by Drunk Driver in Cumming

A jury in Atlanta has determined that Texas Roadhouse is not liable for the death of 13-year-old Leonardo "Leo" Camacho, who was struck by a driver shortly after she consumed alcohol at the restaurant's Cumming location. The jury found that the driver, Katie Pancione, was 100% at fault for the incident, which occurred on June 16, 2020, as Leo and his father were doing yard work at a church. The Camachos had sought at least $95 million in damages, alleging that Pancione was visibly intoxicated when she entered the restaurant, but the jury concluded that the bartender did not serve her while knowing she was drunk.
