Angel Marie Thompson, 41, has been charged with murder and identity theft in connection with the 2007 killing of her girlfriend, 24-year-old Nicole Alston, whose dismembered body was discovered in Troup County. Investigators believe Alston was killed in their shared apartment, and Thompson allegedly assumed Alston's identity to collect nearly $140,000 in government benefits and engage in various fraudulent activities. Following a breakthrough in early 2023 through DNA testing, Thompson is now being held without bond at the Fulton County Jail, with plans for her indictment to include human trafficking and murder charges.
