Woodstock Introduces Paid Parking to Boost Downtown Business Amid Mixed Reactions from Residents and Employees

WOODSTOCK — Starting Monday, Woodstock will implement a paid parking program in its downtown area, charging $2 every two hours from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with the first hour free. The initiative, approved by the Woodstock City Council in April, aims to promote turnover and improve access to local businesses, though reactions among residents are mixed. While some, like Ashley Salinas and Susan Moore, believe it will benefit local commerce, others, including Lori Miller, express concerns about losing the town's small-town charm and the impact on employees who now face parking fees.
