Air Evac Team Saves Student's Life After Barrow County School Shooting Heroic Actions Earns First Friday Heroes Award
On the morning of September 4, a mass shooting at Apalachee High School in Barrow County resulted in the injury of a student who had been shot multiple times. The Air Evac Lifeteam No. 117 Snellville was among the first responders, quickly administering critical care that ultimately saved the student's life. In recognition of their heroic efforts, pilot Matthew Dine and flight nurses Lindsay Chapman and John "Trey" Phillips received the "First Friday Heroes Award" from Piedmont Eastside hospital.
