Father of Slain Atlanta Guard Calls Biden's Clemency for Killer Inadequate Justice

Frederick Neil Washington, the father of slain Atlanta federal prison guard D'Antonio Washington, expressed that life in prison without parole is insufficient punishment for Anthony George Battle, who was recently granted clemency by President Joe Biden after being on death row for killing Washington in 1994. Battle, who had previously been serving a life sentence for another murder, confessed to the crime, claiming frustration with prison life led him to attack Washington with a hammer. Alongside Battle, Meier Jason Brown also received clemency; he was convicted of murdering postmistress Sallie Gaglia during a robbery in 2002.
