Federal Government Faces Lawsuit Over Tragic Death of Teen at Robins Air Force Base Pool

The U.S. Air Force may be dismissed from a lawsuit filed by the family of 14-year-old Gabriel Lee Stone, who died when a wall collapsed at the Heritage Club Pool at Robins Air Force Base in Houston County on June 22, 2024. Gabriel's parents allege negligence regarding the wall's inspection and maintenance, and while they agreed to dismiss the Air Force and its employees from the case, the federal government remains a defendant. The lawsuit claims the wall, built in 1969, was inadequately constructed, leading to Gabriel's fatal injuries after he attempted to stabilize it following a friend's climb.
