Georgia University and Atlanta Hospital Targeted by Unfounded Threats Amid Rising Hoax Calls

On Wednesday morning, a bomb threat was reported at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta's Hughes Spalding hospital, prompting a swift response from law enforcement, who confirmed no hazards were found. Simultaneously, Mercer University in Macon ordered students to shelter in place due to a similar threat, which was also deemed unfounded after a police sweep. These incidents are part of a troubling trend of hoax threats across Georgia and the nation, with the GBI and FBI investigating the rise in such swatting events.
