Former Atlanta executive Mitzi Bickers had her prison sentence reduced to 12 years on Wednesday after wire fraud counts were dismissed following recent U.S. Supreme Court rulings. Bickers, who was previously sentenced to 14 years for taking approximately $3 million in bribes from city contractors, expressed her acceptance of responsibility in court and stated her desire to help others upon her release. U.S. District Judge Steve Jones acknowledged the severity of Bickers' remaining convictions but ultimately decided against a longer sentence, maintaining the restitution amount at $2.9 million.
