Veteran prosecutor Linda Dunikoski will be leaving her position at the Cobb County District Attorney's office at the end of the year after being informed that her services are no longer needed by the newly elected district attorney, Sonya Allen. Dunikoski gained recognition for her role in high-profile cases, including the prosecution of the men responsible for the murder of Ahmaud Arbery, and expressed disappointment that she will not be able to oversee the appellate process for that case. She has served as a prosecutor in metro Atlanta for nearly 23 years and was recently honored as Assistant District Attorney of the Year in 2023.
