A 17-year-old boy, Kenneth Collier Jr., was killed during a shootout at the Residence at Riverside apartment complex near Austell on January 9, as two suspects attempted to steal his gun. Onri Zeron Crawford, 25, and Ryan Crowder have been indicted on multiple felony charges, including murder and aggravated assault, following their arrests in February. Collier Jr., who had previously experienced the trauma of losing his mother to gun violence, was remembered by family as a bright and impactful young man.
